PRODUCTION PROCESS

Wood Selection
Maitiew refers to a specific type of hardwood used in Southeast Asia for binchotan. It’s likely a variety with good burning characteristics.

Drying
The Maitiew wood is likely air-dried for several months to reduce moisture content and prevent cracking during burning.

Carbonization
The dried wood is placed in kilns made of stone and clay, a traditional method. Here, it’s heated to high temperatures (around 800°C) with limited oxygen. This process removes moisture and volatile gases, leaving behind high-carbon charcoal.

Possible Activation
Depending on the desired properties, the charcoal might undergo activation with steam or carbon dioxide. This creates a more porous charcoal for better absorption.

Cooling and Packaging
The finished MAITIEWS BINCHOTAN is cooled down and then packaged for distribution.
